APPNE Funds Going to First Responders

APPNE has chosen first responders Abbottonians Medical Association (AMA) as the first recipients of APPNE-donated funds. This doctor-run NGO is driving the emergency medical efforts in Hazara, which has the three worst affected districts of the earthquake disaster.

AMA doctors are helping staff the emergency medical camp and disaster relief operations at the Ayub Medical College. As First Responders they have led medical relief teams to Batagram, Balakot, Muzaffarabad, Siran Valley. You can read their daily updates at their earthquake relief website.

About Abbottonians Medical Association
AMA was established in 1990 as a doctor-run NGO and has a well earned reputation for service to the communities of the Abbottabad region. They operate rural health programs, blood camps, eye clinics, Thalassaemia programs. They are a registered NGO with the government of Pakistan. Their financial accounts have been regularly audited by reputable firms. The Japanese government selected them for $1.7 million grant for rural health programs.
